badges
The script badges were only fitted to mark1 austin minis and coopers. If you want them fitted in the same place on your boot lid as they were on the mk1 boot you need to fit them between the boot handle and number plate light and next to each other Austin Cooper

number plate light
Looking at the picture as close as I can, it looks a bit like a mk1 bootlid with the recess below the number plate. If so, the light you need is on this site as 83H335. The later bootlids had no recess below the number plate.
Hope this helps.

2 questions that i really need help with!
The Mk1 & Mk2 had the rubber seal fitted to the bootlid. Mk3 onwards has it fitted to the boot aperture lip. It will fit but you just need to decide which sealing method you want to use.
The electics for the number plate lamp are in the same place - bottom left corner near the n/s tail light.

Cooper S Mk2
Hi Could anyone tell me the correct colour of headcloth for a Mk2 Cooper S, the car is Island Blue/White. Also, did the car come with the hinged rear number plate like the MK1 or not? Thanks in advance JSmotorsport

The mini refurb continues...........
Well that's the rear just about sorted.
Bushes replaced on subframe, new radius arms, brake back plate assys, alloy brake drums, competition spec rubber cones, hi-los, gas adjust shocks, gp2 arches, number plate light, mk1 bumper..........
Christ this gets expensive....but I think it's getting there...
Front subframe mounts, front shocks, front rubber cones, engine (currently 850!), drum to disc conversion....
At this rate, it may be ready for the mini's 60th !!
Just changed pic, realised old pic used...plonker

Help!!! Chassis/VIN number confusion
Hi all,
I am currently in a pickle! I'm trying to trace the origins of a mini that I'm considering buying.
It's a clubman estate and the VIN/Chassis number is as follows:
17A254-S-######
Now, as there have been various mistakes over the years with the recording of VIN numbers by the DVLA, through some guessing and comparing and common sense, I think the number may actually be:
MA2S4-S-######
This would make the car (I believe) a MK1 MORRIS MINI SUPER DELUXE SALOON??? And the reg plate fully supports this as it relates to a 1964 car.
Only thing is, it's a Mini Clubman Estate???
Can anyone just tell me if I have got that right?
Also, can you re-shell a mini saloon to a deluxe? As that is one theory given.
There is no history relating to the car about a reshell and it has had a new engine in the last few months.
I'm having second thoughts about buying?
Any advice much appreciated.
